Katy Perry Purr

My friend told me about this perfume and the second I heard that it came in a cat shaped bottle I knew that I had to seek it out and smell it. On one of my weekly shopping trips with Mother I told her about this new scent from the singer and for some reason she was not as enthusiastic. I think she has a biased because I sing Firework constantly at a pitch reserved only for dogs. Any time she hears it she lives in fear that I will start to chime in.
I went to Kohl's recalling their vast fragrance section equipped with nearly every celebrity fragrance ever concocted. Alas, they did not have it. My next stop was Macy's, a plethora of scents but not the one I was looking for. I then hiked to JCPenny which does not even sell fragrances. "No" was the response I got from every establishment. Either my friend had stumbled upon the only bottle ever made or it simply did not exist. Feeling defeated, my mother attempted to cheer me up by suggesting a jaunt to Dillard's. I asked the woman behind the counter, sure they would say, "no" but instead heard a joyous,"We sure....DO!" I was thrilled!
I have read some bad reviews about this scent but I have to say, it smells really good. It is an added bonus that this fragrance comes in a purple bottle shaped like a cat, shimmering body lotion, shower gel, and a tote with the image of Katy Perry in a cat suit playing with a giant ball of yarn. While other celebrities go for ultra glamorous, Katy Perry goes a more comical route. Everything about this is just fun, flirty, and fabulous. I approve and suggest that you at least ask for a sample. Another suggestion with all fragrances and shopping for them: dab a small amount on your skin! All scents smell different on the individual. Don't go on the little card alone. If you can/want to do some research on which scents you would like to try and see if you can get samples. Try them out and see which one fits you.

Happy Shopping,

Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Color.

Upon seeing the commercial for this lip color I grew more and more interested. The main woman within the ad is quite active reporting on news stories and drinking out of various glasses all the while her lips stay a luscious color of red. I have tried other long wear lipsticks and they have been a major disappointment. But I am always on the prowl for something new and interesting to try. So I went to my local grocery store because I knew they would have it. I love that you can get make up in a grocery store. You need food, water, and other necessities but make-up is a little luxury where you can try something new. Trying new make-up is just fun. I search through the various colors provided and settle on "Perpetual Plum" another reason why love using/trying make-up: the names they give these things provide me with much amusement.
I get home and cannot wait to try it on. Alas, the time has come to open the box, and slide the color across my lips. I made the decision for a color within the plum family and it was the right one. My lips are not overly sticky or dry. I put the top coat over my lips to set in the color and am thoroughly impressed. I begin to think about, "Maybe she's born with it. Maybe it's Maybelline." whoever thought of that was a genius. I go about the rest of my day. I eat, drink, and do a news story. I go to check a mirror and to my amazement perpetual plum is still alive and kicking on my face. This stuff really works and would say that it is Lauren Approved.
My suggestion is that you either get a bolder color if you venture out a lot in the evening and do not want to carry it around OR get a more natural color that will will last you all day without constant trips to the bathroom or mirror to reapplication. Most importantly, have fun deciding on your color as well as wearing it. I like to get a variety of different types of colors. You never know what the next day will bring. Change it up every once in a while. Everyday could be a little reinvention for yourself.
